2. Use a Gentle Detergent
Harsh chemicals can damage knitwear fibers. Opt for a mild, wool-friendly detergent to keep your knits looking fresh and feeling soft.

3. Avoid Stretching and Lay Flat to Dry
Knitwear is prone to stretching and felting when exposed to excessive movement. When washing by hand, gently swirl the garment in water without wringing or scrubbing. Never hang knitwear to dry, as this can cause stretching. Instead, reshape the garment and lay it flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel to absorb excess water, then lay the knitwear on a dry towel or mesh rack to air dry.

4. Store Your Knitwear Properly
To prevent misshaping, fold knitwear rather than hanging it. Store in drawers and consider using lavender sachets to deter moths.

5. Remove Pills Gently
Pilling is natural for knitwear, but you can gently remove pills using a fabric comb or shaver. Avoid pulling at pills by hand, as this can damage the fibers.
